JOBSEEKERS

We support local people to upskill and obtain employment in local jobs. Affordable and accessible training, apprenticeships and job opportunities allow you to follow your passion while remaining in the place that you rightly love, your hometown. Vocational Education spans classroom, online, and on-job experience, allowing you to gain theoretical and practical knowledge and earn while you learn.

We work with employers who care for their people's wellbeing and want to grow sustainable businesses that continue to add value to the Whanganui economy and community.

School Leavers

There are approximately 600 school leavers in Whanganui annually. Some will transition into tertiary education while a large number seek further education within the Whanganui region.

The most popular further education options are UCOL, AGC Training, Massey University, Otago University, Victoria University, and Canterbury University. Additionally, Whanganui has many high-quality Private Training Establishments (PTE’s) catering to skills and vocational training needs.

Jobseekers

Those who are not in employment and seeking meaningful jobs may need training, upskilling, or introducing to the right opportunities.

Upskillers

Those currently in employment seeking new opportunities, upskilling, support and connections.

Relocators

Whanganui has a diverse range of industry and employment opportunities for those looking to return, or make New Zealand’s most beautiful city their home.
